The Village Guardian

Spring 2008

Have you seen our new magazine?  It's free to all Ballasalla residents.  You can pick one up from The Olde Bakery or Andy's Mini Market or we can post one to you for a £1 donation to BADRA + P&P.  Please email us at Admin@BADRA.org for further details.

Not only does it have information on how to contact us but it is jam packed full of local news and stories.  Including a look back over the last 50 years of Ballasalla.

A few of the items in this issue are:
  • Your Association and its history.
    • How did BADRA Start?  Who Started it? How can we help you and where are we.
  • Just Over Half A Century
    • History of Ballasalla from a Residents point of view.  What has changed in the area over the last 50 years, some good some bad!  With some lovely pictures of now and then.
  • The Real Whitestone?
    • 'Whitestone' is a significant name in Ballasalla - Yet few people understand its origin or significance.  Find out all about it and what 'Clagh Vane' really means!

And that is just the tip of the iceberg!!

The magazine is free, but it has cost BADRA to produce it, so any donations are gratefully received.  You can either donate through the person who delivered your edition or see our DONATIONS page for details of how to donate online or by post.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy reading The VIllage Guardian and BADRA.ORG as much as we all have producing them.
